The Chicago Summer Business Institute program introduces students to the financial services sector by combining on-the-job experience with classroom education. The Institute’s goal is to give its participants an incentive to continue their education while preparing them for the business world.

The Chicago Summer Business Institute targets high achievers from Chicago’s public, parochial and private high schools. Ideal candidates have above-average grades, extra-curricular activities and plans for college.

Students are given the opportunity to participate in the Chicago business community and not only earn money and save for college but also experience a summer internship that can help further their careers after high school. Working in a professional environment gives the students a sense of what working will be like after college: the challenges, the responsibilities, and the feeling of accomplishment from a job well done.

ߣߣÊÓƵ Markets has been a proud sponsor of the Corporate Internship Program (CIP) for Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, an innovative work-study program for students which combines two commonly used business concepts, employee leasing and job sharing. This initiative gives students the means of financing their education. This program allows students to earn 70% of the cost of their education by working five full days each month in entry-level positions at corporations throughout downtown Chicago.

°Õ³ó±ðÌýCIP has evolved into an innovative means of providing students with crucial hands-on, white-collar work experience, while simultaneously empowering them to take an active part in financing a major portion of their education. As a result of working in a business environment, students acquire desirable job experience and marketable skills, develop a network of business contacts, gain exposure to a wide variety of career opportunities, refine a strong work ethic, and increase their self-esteem.

ߣߣÊÓƵ Markets participates in the Chicago Public Schools’ annual Principal for a Day event. Principal for a Day is a program that immerses corporate, community and civic leaders in the public school environment, broadening their understanding of the accomplishments and challenges of students, teachers and principals.

The program has introduced local business leaders to the everyday challenges facing schools and has produced partnerships that have generated millions of dollars in added resources and other benefits for schools and students.

ߣߣÊÓƵ Markets is proud to have been a part of the “Real Men Read” program. “Real Men Read” is a Chicago Public Schools’ initiative bringing male volunteers into grammar schools to read to students.

“Real Men Read” focuses on improving the literacy skills of students which are at the foundation of education. The program also encourages and motivates students to enjoy the gift of reading. To date, nearly 600 mentors in 84 schools city-wide have touched the lives of 16,000 students.
